The project requirements.
The challenge
Quotes were calculated manually, so customers waited and staff spent their day on the phone. Pricing also depended on distance, vehicle size, time of day, and UK bank holidays, which made mistakes easy.
The solution
We built a quote engine that calculates live road distance through the Google Distance Matrix API and prices every vehicle class from CMS-managed rates, with out-of-hours and holiday surcharges applied automatically. A three-step booking flow takes the customer from postcode to paid booking, and invoices go out without anyone touching them.
