Velo development for Wix
Velo is Wix's JavaScript development layer: real front-end and back-end code running inside a Wix site. It's what turns a Wix Studio site into custom Wix development: real databases, real business logic, real integrations. I'm Zain, the developer behind Nexlabs Studio, a Wix Partner at Legend level. Velo is where most of the platform work in the portfolio happens.
Book an intro callWhat I build with Velo
Custom databases and collections that go beyond the default CMS, role-based dashboards where each user only sees what applies to them, member areas, and booking and payment flows wired to a real processor rather than a generic embed. I also connect Wix sites to the tools a business already runs on, CRMs, accounting platforms, and other APIs, through Velo's backend functions.
GSE GO is a good example of the range: a two-sided marketplace with four role-based dashboards, an emergency request-and-alert layer, and ACH payment workflows, all built on Velo. Take My Freight uses Velo to calculate live courier quotes through the Google Distance Matrix API and apply pricing rules automatically. Regal Designer Delivery uses it for a four-level access model that keeps each client company's inventory data isolated from every other.
Integrations
A lot of Velo development work is connecting a Wix site to something outside it. Gold Canyon Arts Council's QuickBooks Online integration routes ticket sales, donations, and memberships into the correct income accounts automatically, with OAuth 2.0 and duplicate protection so nothing posts twice. Kimbo Campers' Zoho CRM integration sends every website enquiry into the sales pipeline the moment it's submitted, instead of someone copying it over by hand.
How I work
Velo work is scoped and quoted in writing like everything else I build, with weekly previews on a live link so you can see the logic working, not just have it described to you. Credentials for any third-party API are stored in Wix's secrets manager, never hardcoded into the site.
Who this is for
A business already on Wix, or moving to it, that needs the site to actually do something: take bookings, process payments, run a member area, or talk to another system it already relies on. I also support agencies with Velo development under their own brand.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
Only if the site needs to do something beyond design and content: a dashboard, a booking system, a database, or an integration with another tool. Plenty of sites don't need it; the ones that do, need it specifically.
